What a beautiful tribute to this time of year!

I'll have to try that recipe.

So beautiful, Elizabeth. I am also enjoying fall walks and colors.

Thank you Giovanna. I saw that you commented elsewhere today that this is your favourite season. Mine too 💕

I hung on every word of this, Eliz. A gorgeous reflection on a magical period I will now even more mindfully admire.

Thank you so much Lori! That really means a lot to me 💕. Hugs to you and your boys.

"Autumn is here. We must wake up." Beautiful!

The whole thing is a wonderful reflection of Autumn, but that last line, oh my goodness!

Elizabeth Pizzinato's avatar

I take that as high praise from you, dear Barb 💕

Ooooh, this is lovely. I shall follow this Autumnal self care list myself. And gosh those russet and copper dahlias 😍

Elizabeth Pizzinato's avatar

I can’t get my fill of those dahlias. I think they are finally winding down…until they do, I’m enjoying every last petal. They have been glorious!

I adore your tomato tart tatins recipe and have made them several times. When I remove them from the tin, the dough has a rounded bottom and they don't stand up. I only use 2 tomatoes per tart. Is there a tip to help me with this? Many thanks

Susan, how nice to “see” you here! I can’t keep track of here you are now…Dubai? London? Wherever you are, I hope all is well in your world.

I thrilled that these are part of your repertoire! They are so tray, aren’t they? A couple of ideas for you. If you are doing the minis (I.e., in mini muffin tins), you can fill the muffin cup a bit more. You can see from the photo in my post that each one has at least three. If you find the tomatoes are too big, you might want to cook them down a bit before baking. More filling, more weight on the pastry is what I’m thinking

The second thing I’d recommend is using a small spatula to “flatten” the tarts when you take the tray out of the oven and they’re still warm. The pastry puffs up a fair bit but will start to fall as the tarts cool, so by flattening them while they’re warm they might level out a bit.

Let me know if either of these ideas work 💕

Those of us who live within the four seasons, I think, must be more attuned to seasonal rhythms. This is a list to motivate mindfulness with direct rewards

Yes, I think you’re right. I am very grateful to live in a four seasons world!
