I just learned about the book by complete chance and will be buying it too. There is a wonderful bookstore/cafe/restaurant in Lecce called Liberrima and one of Piovene’s quotes was above the travel books. Worth a visit if you will be close by!

I visited Puglia for a few days in October 2023, as part of a trip with three friends whom I've known since I we were 3 years old. We had a lovely time and Puglia was beautiful. I was saddened to learn about the disease affecting the olive trees and I admit that I found parts of Bari terribly touristy, but overall, early October it was a good time to visit. It seems like you've had a blast. And your photos a gorgeous.

We’ve had a really lovely trip. Did not go to Bari; travelled primarily between Ostuni and the heel of the boot. We will definitely be back!
