A slice of community: The Great Pie-palooza
and a link to 36 pie recipes you'll return to again and again
To everyone new here, welcome. I’m Elizabeth, the writer of The Delicious Bits Dispatch, a weekly missive for the curious, blending discovery, reflection, and musings, always wrapped up with a seasonal recipe worth lingering over.
This week’s Dispatch is a little different, Instead of my usual post I’m sharing Pie-palooza, a delicious pie in the sky idea from fellow Substacker
that turned into something wonderfully communal.Back in September, Betty put out a call to food writers: share your favorite pie recipe, whether family favourites, most requested at gatherings, or simply too good to keep to yourself.
And we answered.
In total, 36 writers from around the world contributed their beloved recipes and stories, each bringing their creativity to the table. Betty gathered them all into one deliciously rich post — a virtual pie potluck that’s equal parts comfort and collaboration.
You’ll find everything from sweet classics to inventive savoury creations (including my recipe for a classic meat pie: French Canadian tourtière). It’s the kind of collection you’ll want to bookmark and bake from all year long. With the holidays just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to roll out some dough and fill your kitchen with the smell of something wonderful.
“We must have a pie. Stress cannot exist in the presence of a pie.”
— David Mamet, Boston Marriage
I couldn’t agree more.
Because truly — stress doesn’t stand a chance in the presence of pie.

A tap on the heart or a share is a lovely way to pass this along to someone else who might need a moment of comfort—or pie. Thank you for reading 💕

So fun to participate! I love the idea of pie people all over the world taking a moment to immerse themselves in all the pie possibilities!
Thank you Elizabeth for bringing this all together. I totally agree Betty has done us all proud.
